Research Activities and Interests

Members of the Endocrine Research Laboratory have been involved, and are active in several research projects. These research pages allow us to show some of our interests with background information, research results, thoughts and opinions. We hope you find them interesting and useful. The first research area to be highlighted is Progranulin (below), but others will follow as time permits their composition. We would be pleased to receive comments and suggestions.

The Progranulin /granulin-epithelin precursor / proepithelin / PC_Cell- derived growth actor (PCDGF) / acrogranin molecule has been a major focus of interest for Andrew Bateman's laboratory. Hugh Bennett's laboratory has been studying the granulin homologues in fish, and the regulation of their expression during zebrafish development. Andrew Bateman contributed this review.
